 Florida potatos in the sky
« Thread Started on Jan 15, 2004, 10:01am »

Hey Frank,

We have seen a vine around the Orlando area that has tubers on it from acorn size up to the size and shape of a small, slightly green potato. Looks like they could give someone a nasty wack when they fall, as they seem to be doning this time of year.

We were wondering. What are they?? Do they have any value, such as food, animal food etc??

Thanks for any ino you can provide.

Potatoes in the sky, I had to click this post when I read that, Gruffy. LOL

What do you call an orbiting potato peeler sent up in space by Russians?

Spudnik. ;D

No, just a dent in my forehead. When I regained conciousness it had rolled off into the bush. I'll try to get a photo for tomorrow.

Oh, air potato! I don't know whether to congratulate you or give you my sympathy. :-/ :D Have you tried to eat the "potatoes?" I read they need to boiled in several changes of water, or can be bitter.

I see they claim the wild ones are poisonous :-X but when looking into it, I heard of someone in the southern states who had tame ones the size of soft balls. :D

We're to far north here for that sorta stuff to grow, but I would persue it if I were further south. ;D
